Bio:
One of Theresa Bakker's first assignments was distributing sound from the annual groundhog festival in Punxsutawney, PA. Now she writes stories about weather-forecasting marmots for the University of Alaska Museum of the North, where she is the Communication Director. Bakker has worked at radio stations across Alaska and was the longtime producer/host of the award-winning morning program Alaska Edition on KUAC. She is a freelance magazine writer, newspaper columnist and radio producer.
Bakker finished her creative writing MFA in 2010 at the Rainer Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. She is a published essayist who is working on a memoir about spiritual entropy and the connections between her bi-latitudinal geographies of origin.
